Eddystone Rifle 30-06 Very nice Enfield 1917, complete wood, no rust; WWI first US military rifle to have aperture sights. In the 1941 movie about Sgt. York and his WWI exploits, staring Gary Cooper, he was depicted as using a 1903A1 Springfield 30-06 caliber rifle. Thousands of Nagants made in the USA were shipped through Northwestern USA ports to Russia. This one is similar to some converted to light and handy carbines with commercial or custom stock, This carbine has shortened turned down bolt handle and aperture rear sight, 100 meter aperture and upper notch for 200 meters, mounted to striker. Tangent sight completely removed, stock screw attached to hex on barrel. Original 13 1/2" pull lengthened slightly.In WW I Russia defaulted on purchase of a couple of million Nagants being made in the U.S. In the 1920s thousands of U.S. made Nagants were sold in the USA for $3.00.
